A simplified fixed-payout (amortized) model — it assumes a constant rate and depletes the balance to zero over the term. Real annuities have fees, riders, and different structures. General information, not financial or annuity advice.

Turning a lump sum into income

This treats the payout like a loan in reverse: the balance earns a return while it's paid down to zero over the term. Higher rates or shorter terms mean bigger payments; longer terms stretch the same pot thinner.

Payment = balance × r ÷ (1 − (1 + r)⁻ⁿ)

Quick FAQ

Is this a real annuity quote?

No — it's the math of a fixed-term payout. Insurance annuities add fees, guarantees, and options that change the number. Use this to sanity-check, not to buy.

What if I want it to last forever?

Then you'd only spend the interest, not the principal — a much smaller payment. This model spends the whole balance over the term you set.
